Symphonicity League was established in 1993 as the Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra League by a small group of enterprising citizens who saw the need for an independent organization to provide support for Virginia Beach's all-volunteer orchestra. The League has grown in numbers over the years and has been responsible for many successful fund-raisers.

Not only does the League plan and implement ways in which money can be generated and donated to benefit the orchestra, but it also provides musical scholarships to deserving Virginia Beach public school students. A much-anticipated annual event sponsored by the League each December is a Holiday House tour followed by a luncheon and fashion show at the Princess Anne Country Club. Most recently the League orchestrated two highly successful Noted Authors Dinners in which ticketed patrons were treated to a delightful evening of dinner and talks from best-selling authors such as Homer Hickam, Stephen Coonts, and Dorothea Benton Frank. Other fund raising ventures have been the "Painted Violins" raffle, a League cookbook, and silent auctions. League members also enjoy musical programs presented at regular meetings and the fellowship of potluck suppers.

The League is always seeking new members who can bring energy to the organization and a willingness to work -- and who can bring innovative ideas of ways to support our wonderful orchestra!
